So what's the word on things? Is the Advanced Rules any closer to being PoD? And how're the Deep Magic and Golden Age supplements coming along? Hello! I was blocked out of here for a while but sorted out my access issues. The issues I've had with POD have persisted but I am going to start the books from scratch and that should help. My priorities are to finish the Gear and Cities books before the Deep Magic and Golden Age books. It's getting there but my technical savvy is not as savvy as I anticipated.

Hi there, what I'm really missing are "normal" creatures. I've often encounters with wolves, badgers, bears, etc Unluckily there is no such set with these kind of pieces. Any chance for some "normal" creatures set? There is a Wilderness set coming (fergoshsakes, it's almost done... it's just such a big set!).

I would love to see a set of anthropomorphic animals for games like Burrows & Badgers. Cheers! I have some mice and rats that also have frogs in there.

Found the retro space sets on Drive through yesterday. I like the look and bought the ones that they had marked at $2.50. I will be printing them soon. Have to find the card stock my new printer likes. I have played RPG's when I was a teen and now that I am retired, I have been looking into them again. Yes I played D&D before the was a internet. I like Sci Fi, but all my friends did not. We did play some Paranoia back then but I could never get them to try Traveller. I have David's space station in the cart and will pull the trigger soon. (Looking at all the other sets) Posting as a guest while waiting for my approval. Is there a game to go with the Retro space sets? Looking for something easy to get my wife to try RPG. Thanks Mel I will have Cosmic (Retrospace) cards available for Darkfast Dungeons/ Save the Day soon. That might just lead to an actual game but there are a few things I need to finish first.

I got into Darkfast Dungeons and Save The Day vis-a-vis the Bundle of Holding collection that was offered back in 2019. I've played Darkfast solo and it seems to work really well (it's a board game I know so there are easier mechanisms for soloing) but I was wondering if anyone has tried Save The Day solo at all? Given that it shares some of the tactical dna of all of the skirmish-ish Okum Arts games I was envisioning/craving an experience like Rangers of Shadow Deep but with superheroes using this system. Save The Day as a whole is a personal fave, right up there with the old Marvel Super Heroes FASERIP system by TSR for me! I am considering a Solo Adventure book for just this thing but there are some projects I have to finish first. It's totally doable though, just use the villains in the Vile Villains books as the bad guys and maybe even throw in some Darkfast Dungeons monsters and mooks for even more variety.

Hi there, is there anything of the above mentioned stuff to be fournd here? Thanks Mac Hi Mac, I can't believe I missed this post. It's been a hectic couple of weeks. I have some minis that might be of interest in the Save the Day line. I have some gang members in the Save the Day Team Canada set as well as some civilians, gangsters, scientists, media, secret service, and police. There is the first responder set with EMTs, Firefighters, and police. Some other lines like Pulp Inc. and Spot of Bother might also provide minis for your needs. David

Hey all, school (I'm a teacher) has been so chaotic during COVID and my father in law has been very ill. So, it's been a bit busy and stressful this year. Who knew 2020 would be the monster it has become? Just saying hello and I'm plugging away to finish some content I'm really behind on. I'll be letting you know more about it as I finish it up.

Okay, I'm a thick sometimes when it comes to rules. I know I am on this one. I keep looking at videos and reading the activation rules and it is just not sinking in. What am I missing? Some body please tell me if I've got this right. I roll a d6 and that tells me how many points I have to work with. If I roll: 1 point ...I can attack once at -1...or roll ability once at -1...or move 1" [run 2"] ? 2 points ...I can attack once no penalty...or roll ability once no penalty...or attack twice at -1...or check ability twice at -1...or move 2" [run 4"] 3 points ..I can attack once no penalty...or roll ability once no penalty...or attack twice at -1...or check ability twice at -1...or move 3" [run 6"]...or move 1"-with 2 AP left- and take an action at no penalty This is where I get confused... if I rolled a 3 again, could I move 2", leaving me 1 AP and use that single AP to make a check/attack at -1? Are 4 and 5 points treated likewise? It seems that any single action or ability check seems to require 2 points to perform without penalty. But can I break up the die roll in any way that I want? If I rolled that 6, do I have to use it all for checks/attacks or movement, OR, could I literally decide to spend a single point at a time and make 6 different attacks all at -1 each? Could I move 4" and take a single action at no penalty since I'd have 2 AP's left? I'm confused...and I hope I haven't confused any one else. I really want to GM this game and need to understand this. Thanks. This isn't too much of an issue in play. Most people take the approach that they can do something with their Panel and do it. If they roll a 1 they do it at =1 and if they roll a 6 they get a +1. The rest is usually just how much they can move around before and after their action. Sometimes they really want to do all of the things. I usually cite the rules on Multiple Attacks and Guns a Blazing and Fists of Fury that state that they can't do more things than they have Ability. In Save the Day that means that theoretically they could stand there and throw three punches if they rolled a 6, but they'd all be at -1 or two punches at regular rolls. I hope that helps. If random Activation isn't for you consider the "Take Five" rule on page 68. Personally, I love how a random activation changes the dynamic and makes for more tension. I've had a few players at conventions roll 1 for Activation time and again and get really frustrated. In the long run though, Activation adds a dramatic twist to every combat and keeps everyone on their toes. Sometimes they have to respond more creatively when they activate at 1 all the time. It's also how tough guys can sometimes give Batman a run for his money from time to time.

Hi, On ranged attack you write: "As a rule, figures may not use ranged attacks on adjacent targets if they are being actively attacked that GT, but if they do they give up using their Ability in their defensive rolls against all attack- ers for that GT. This attack is rolled with no range modifier." As english is not my native language, could you please explain this rule? or even better, give an example ? thanks Hello, Sorry for the delay in responding. I've been super busy marking school work. So, this rule addresses the fact that it's hard to point a bow or ranged weapon at a target right beside you because they can step out of the way and it takes concentration and movement to follow a moving or evading figure. This targeting makes it easier to hit the attacker later so they must stand can concentrate before they fire. This makes them easier to hit, therefore they lose their Ability in defense rolls (as they are just standing there). The attack on the target beside them does not get the usual +1 to hit because of Point blank range. I hope that helps clarify.

OK, I get what you mean. Personally, if I want to mod a figure, I will take a screenshot of it at 200% or even 400% zoom. Then, when I'm done, I will do a rectangular select around the figure, then while pressing the Ctrl key, click in the white space around the figure in the selected area with Fuzzy select to end up with just the figure selected. Then, I select scale and, for example, if I'm doing a 15 mm human, I change the units to millimetres and enter the height as, say 17 mm. Click "OK" and the figure becomes the correct size. When I made my own original figures, I used LibreOffice Draw. For that I worked at 100%, but always used mm as physical dimensions such as metres, millimetres, feet and inches are more familiar to me than pixels & dpi. There was a point when my scaling was just the pits. Now I hope, the most recent sets have been better (more consistently) scaled. I'm trying to be better that way. I admit that my scale is much more... HEROIC in nature (maybe akin to some Heroclix?) Right now, I'm using the fighter from the DFCF set 0 set as the baseline for my minis. Here are some comparative scales. The fighter I mentioned is highlighted with the red arrow.
