But, As you say, you're into GIMP and are happy with the results. I have been using both in my new path of discovery. I always loved how easy it was to use Paint back when I was creating my own 15mm stuff. (I have posted some of the sets I created over on the Carboard Warriors forum). They are all flats, no 2.5D or 3D models. I figure I now have two tools that have different uses. GIMP seems to have some abilities that Paint does not, but at the same time GIMP is harder to use in some ways. I suspect both will remain in my tool box. I used paint to remove the handgun from one of the Space figures and he turned out good enough. Once printed and on the table he will look fine I think. Space Police in the OutlandsModding figures for your personal needs is all part of the fun of paper minis.

I used the basic Paint program that came with my computer and printed it out on the color printer at work. I have sense read a lot of folks use GIMP or Photoshop. So I am assuming the basic paint program lacks what is needed to keep the colors steady. I believe it is not the printer because the prints I did of the normal PDFs seemed fine. So I am going to pick up GIMP and start the long clime to learning how to use it. EDIT: Ok, here is my first try in GIMP. Not sure how good it is, but at least it seems to work. My First Attempt....I'm glad it is working better for you.

I printed my stuff off and built it all over one weekend so I could play on Monday night. I managed to get it all done, but MAN, it was a lot of work. I suggest spacing it out. I bet you used to have all your school homework done on time as well... I now have just the Trap, Miracle and Spell cards to put together and we're done! One quicky question: What are the exclamation ( !) cards for: View AttachmentI couldn't find them mentioned in the rule book. OH, I think I took out that rule, but they were originally used to show that a figure (monster) was alert and actively looking for a fight. It would be harder to sneak by and they would pursue anyone they spotted until they were dead. I still kinda use that rule, I just took it out because it was a bit much. I must have left the counters in the mix though.

Hi Okum Arts: Gosh I do not understand the Knockback Damage rules. Can someone please explain it with an example? John T> Sorry for the delay in replying. Life suddenly got super busy. OK, Knockback. As you know knockback happens when damage exceeds the Target's Ability score unless it's like a Ballistic weapon such as a gun, arrow, laser, etc. Flying characters also take 2x Knockback. For every TWO points of damage a character takes ABOVE their Ability they are knocked back 1 inch/square/5 feet. So a character with 3 Ability hit with an energy blast that did 10 points of damage is knocked back 3 inches (round down). Knockback Damage. Simply take the number of squares and divide by two. For every two squares (round down), the target takes 1 point of damage PLUS the roll of 1d6. This damage number is rolled against with a standard Ability Check. Damage is calculated as usual subtracting the Ability Check result from the Knockback Damage roll. If the Damage Roll is higher than the Ability Check then that is that damage taken. In the above example the target moved 3 inches. Halved, the result is 1. Add 1d6 (result of 5) for a total of 6. The Ability check is 3 +1d6 (result of 2). The difference is 1 in favour of the Knockback so only 1 point of damage is taken. This is soaked up by a Rank of the Toughness Talent. It might be good to do a video explaining these concepts at some point. I tried it without halving the number of squares and it was just like... SUPER DEADLY! A few Batman vs Superman battles ended quickly as Batman was knocked back into oblivion. Giving Batman Acrobatics really helped though. Acrobatics negates the damage from Knockback unless the target is unconscious (which is what happened to poor bats).

I would like to see some of the SciFi TV shows show up in a homage line. But I suspect because of the subject it gets touchy. Above and Beyond or Space 1999 or Firefly as examples. I did some Space 1999 mods from my colonists set, but I lost the file somehow. There are Firefly minis out there somewhere. I think on the Cardboard Warriors/One Monk forums... hmmm I will have to look. Found it... look on this page. onemonk.com/fh-2009.htmlHoard 29 if I'm not mistaken.

I just want to make sure I got this right: The book titled "Darkfast Dungeons Basic Rules" that clocks in at 36 pages is not an RPG but is a board game/card game/psudo-RPG? The book titled "Darkfast Dungeons Fantasy Adventure Game - Basic Rulebook" that clocks in at 142 pages, that is the RPG? Do I have it right? Correct.

My collection is growing and while I remember a figure I saw, I do not always remember what file it is on. So I am looking for advice and suggestions and tips and tricks.... I am curious how do you organize, track, and catalog your electronic files? Do you try to track each individual mini? Only organize by subject matter? Do you rename files or run an excel sheet? I organize my binders by what I need and what goes together. Electronic files? I don't really. I just put them in a folder of "working files" and "finished files".

Question: Do any of the sets have a Phase Spider? I tried to look but didn't find one. EDIT: And while I am begging for help, is there a Pack Mule in one of the sets? No phase spider, but there are spiders in Darkfast Classic Fantasy set 8 (bonus spiders). Pack Mule in Darkfast Classic Fantasy set 5.

Hey David, would it be possible, you expand on that one Ultima Forsan set you did with more Venetian-style Rokoko Horror minis? I'm thinking in this direction: www.carnevalegame.com/It would probably be in the new year, but that looks like an interesting setting. I guess Venetian -Style minis would suitable for Ultima Forsan. OK.. that's a neat idea.
