What is the approximate size of the figures, when printed? My orcs and elves are about 35 mm. They seem a bit big when compared to DagobahDave's models: I did print with no scaling, ignore margins blah blah.

Hmm.. they should be more like 32mm when printed. What program are you printing from?

I'm using Adobe Reader, with no scaling. Paper size is A4 as opposed to Letter, but it hasn't proved a problem in the past. It's not a bid deal - certainly not as bad as buying several boxes of 1/72nd scale figures and finding they're all different sizes...

Necroposting, hehe... but on the subject of scale... are the 30mm figurescale miniatures being measured from base to "eye level" or from base to the actual top of the head "height" of the miniature if it were standing straight?

I believe that the 30mm is to eye level.

I use the eyes as the level, but I try to give a range of scale to reflect individual figures. I will admit that some creep scale has hit some sets, but I am trying to be consistent.

Oops! I did it again... Just printed up the DfD stuff. While the playing tiles have nice neat 25mm/1" squares, the figures are a stonking 35 to 38 mm. I used the Linux PDF viewer Evince and printed with no scaling. Though They still look OK on the tiles: But now I'm torn - keep all the DfD figures at 100% or re-do them, but scale them to about 28 mm to match the Retro-Space figures I have: These were scaled to 28 mm to match the Guncrawl figures...

Thanks for the support. I think you'll find the DFD game makes some fine solo play scenarios for you. If you want to bump it along, even more, the DFD RPG adds a ton of meat to that potato.

Just to double-check: The squares on the tiles are 25mm/1" and the tiles themselves are 10cm/4", right?

Many years ago, I printed up a load of Gun Crawl figures, which came out as 28 mm. Recently, I printed up a several of the Retro SciFi sets and scaled them to match. So, in the end, I stuck with 28 mm. For anyone else interested in printing at 28 mm scale: The original size of the lady fighter was 33 mm from foot to eye. The fiesty space wench was 25,5 mm. I reprinted the DfD characters at 77,3%. DfD meets Retro SciFi and Guncrawl with a hint of Flames of War in the background.
