That leaves the Space Amazons to complete the original list of factions for the setting. I am really liking how everything is looking together in these sets. I need some kind of game to play with them.

I'd love to see the robots done in a 2d flat format like the rest of them. The 2.5 D ones are a Pita to assemble and store.

Imperial is oddly über secure PDF. I have downloaded it multiple times over the past year. Is this intentional?

I just went through this process a couple days ago, and had no trouble working with the files... cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/thread/6777/retro-space-set-imperiaxProbably more detail than necessary, but here's roughly exactly what my process is: I extract the downloaded ZIP file using 7zip. I open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader, print using CutePDF with whatever layer options I want. Then I open that PDF into GIMP at 300 dpi and export it out as JPG (erasing any stuff I don't feel like printing first, like text). With the .studio3 file open in Silhouette Studio, I drag the JPG into Studio. I select it, right-click and send it to back to put it behind the cutlines (so I can see that they line up. With the image selected, I select the move tool and type in 0, 0 as a position. It should line up perfectly with the cutlines. I then print and cut.

OK, thanks for the tip; I simply never had this issue ever before. I have everything David has put out, and this is the bad one. Its not a favorite, so if this doesn't work - why would cutepdf work, and not adobe? It always does. Idk if its worth the hassle. FYI something is lost doing what you do. I'm serious. I always replace the PNG image back. David made a mistake on this title is the real issue, for all others don't lock me out.

I think I may 'give it a go' in the new year. I couldn't resist. I started making some 2d versions of these guys... Since I'm only planning on having a couple done, I've only made 8 variants - didn't feel the need to make the faces and arms and what-nots swappable, though I suppose it would be easy enough to continue to make the arms, legs and antennae separate, and you could glue them between the sandwiched body of the robot... I'm doing cutfiles now, and maybe tomorrow I'll be able to have them cut and assembled.

furfle, I went through the file again and I wasn't sure what you meant. I will see if I can update the file this weekend. I would agree with you that if it is super locked up that I made a mistake. I want the files to be editable for people (that's more fun and kind of the point of this hobby in my opinion). Let me see what I can do with the original file.

Dangit, If I wasn't so darn busy I'd be all over the Metal Legion as these guys rock. Thanks mproteau! They're pretty fun as 2d minis! I really want to make a layered PDF, but not right now... I need to dig myself out of a motivational black hole and get back on track with my own stuff... But 3 faces, 9 weapons (left and right hands), 3 antenna, 2 types of feet, 4 colored bodies, 2 styles of back... Fit four on a page, and with 128 little layers, you've got yourself 11,664 combinations of robots! I just distilled it down to 8 and called it a day. :-P I've got most of the pieces parts... it wouldn't be that hard to make a layered PDF from it... I considered just making the parts separate from the body - sandwich fold each part and glue their tab to the inside of the back of the body, then sandwich fold the body together... That'd probably work well, too - I just wanted a single piece for my machine to cut.
