Sooooo..... I've been going through my small assortment of HeroClix (got them free when I bought a box of MageKnight minis off of a friend)... Rather than just letting them go to waste, I'm starting to plan out an X-men campaign. I will be posting character conversions on my blog. Please note I'm taking artistic license here (since I'm not spending money on Clix) so some DC characters may find themselves in the Marvel Universe. I'm also changing up backgrounds a bit. First up is Professor X: cloudcraftsite.wordpress.com/2016/03/20/save-the-day-professor-x/Oh man, that looks just about right on the money. I was running a DC campaign and soon realized it was probably over-powered. This looks like an interesting way to do things. Oh, How so?

I think she looks great, but why isn't her outfit green? Originally she was red an black and then Deadpool happened. But, Deadpool!

Well, Run and Gun in X-COM allows Assault Class soldiers to make a double move and still attack. It has a 2 round cooldown (making it available 1/3 the time). So basically it behaves like 1/3 of Alternate Movement: Super Speed. I'd call that worth a talent rank. *shrug* Looking at the cool down stuff again, yeah, spot on. Talent worthy for sure. As long as you call it Rapid Movement and not Run & Gun, cuz I think Firaxis might get a little peeved if you did. I really need to sit down and put together a list of X-Com abilities I wish to try translating into StD

I realized something.
Fleet Feet increases running speed from x2 while running to x3.
I couldn't find the running rules in the Beta PDF.
-------------------
Also, since 1 Talent rank = 1/3 Panel Power Rank, maybe have an option:
Rapid Movement: This ability allows you to move two inches per action point instead of one. At one rank this power has a two-page cool down, and at two ranks this power has a one-page cool down. At three Ranks this talent becomes Alternate Movement: Super Speed.
The only reason I thought of this was I'm thinking of doing up an X-COM scenario using the ruleset (friend of mine has been commenting how much Zombie Ruckus is like X-COM) and Assault Class soldiers have an ability called Run and Gun which would be similar to my proposal for the Rapid Movement Talent.

Pretty much every Equipment List I've ever seen has items sorted into Weapons, Armor, Communications, Vehicles, Bases, etc

Would a motorbike be written up as a Rank 1 Gear (Alternate Movement: Superspeed)?

Like what? Vehicular Combat? Or just how Vehicles behave in general?

One idea I've been kicking around is adding 2 to the starting Gear for Basic Characters. So they'd have 3 Ranks of Gear to play with at the start of the game. It kind of makes sense considering the toys superheroes seem to have such as armoured costumes, safe houses, hideouts, etc. What do people think? Too much? I think that sounds about right. BTW, what's the rule on taking additional dark Secrets? Seems like a Dark Secret should be worth a Panel Power or 3 Talents... Also, I thought of an option for Arch-Enemy... What do you think?

Something else to consider: - Mad Science makes me think of villains. May want to change it to Weird Science or Super Science.
- Having layers on the Character Cards for the Blank Sketch templates for alternate poses for both men and women (maybe teens and children as well?). Thought I would do these last myself.
- Blank Character Cards (Origin and Class), so players can create their own, putting in Blank Title Boxes for the Powers and Blank Lines for the Talents lists
Some alternate/variation Origins I thought of are: Cursed This Origin is for those who receive their powers from a mystical source, typically being cursed by a powerful being or picking up a cursed artifact. Panel Powers: Alternate Power (Altered Physiology), Drain, Hand to Hand Attack, Super-Sense, Super-Strength, Transfer Issue Powers: Berserker, Death Touch, Fists of Fury Talents: Awareness, Brawling, Disengage, Elusive, Fleet Feet, Mighty, Physical, Powers, Toughness, Unstoppable, Possessed This Origin is for those who are possessed by a primal spirit, ghost, demon, angel, alien, or some other entity. Panel Powers: Alternate Movement, Immune, Invulnerable, Telepathy, Telekinesis, Willpower Issue Powers: Curse, Dispel, Enchant Talents: Awareness, Catfall, Charming, Craft, Elusive, Lucky, Power, Scholar, Uncanny Dodge, Unstoppable
