Good morning what a great game. I have a activation question 1. During a players game turn, does the player roll for activation point's for each snow kid in play? or is it one roll during the game turn and the points are spread between for the entire team.
Do you roll activation on each kid I guess is what I am asking.
2. movement: how about turning. If a snow kid is facing say north and they want to move east. Does it cost an action point to first turn east then another to actually move one square east. If they wanted to turn completely around would that be 2 moves? (facing north, turn west, turn south, now facing south)
Lastly - I showed the game to a friend of mine as I was foam boarding the bases and game board, he loves it and can't wait to play. he suggested two things.
1. A game player sheet with each teams kids on them to mark the hero points, items and abilities and one for the zombie snowmen, elf's and snow best. Better than counters I guess.
2. When he was a kid he says that the teen age kids or a "big kid" bully would stomp into their snow fights and attack their forts by kicking it and tearing it down.
I was thinking this might be an idea for another expansion. Have teenagers or one "bully" come on the game field and attempt to destroy the snow fort (roll some d6 for snow fort hit points) and the kids have to turn them away by pelting them with snowballs.
thanks john

I'm actually in the process of making some of those for my game. I just need to get Dave's okay before I post them. ;D

Thanks, the extra expansions will be great.
Are you able to explain the movement questions I posted to me? Thanks.

Oh, sure thing! There is no extra charge for changing facing. You just move whichever direction you want to. And you roll activation for the side and split up the points however you want to.

emergencyoverride thank you for the very nice place mats. I plan to laminate them and use a dry erase pen. Thank you also for clearing up the movement and activation rules for me. I play flytraps zombie plague and each directional turn costs a point. Friends were concerned about the movement and activation.
May the snowball wars commence.

Jab688, great ideas and question. No points of changing facing. I use a common activation roll for the side and all kids use that roll to activate/move. So if I roll a 4, all kids have 4 AP to move, attack or take other actions. I LOVE THE playmats and the snow beast victims... sooo cool. I have tried to keep the components down to get playing straight away, but these expansions and extras just make the game cooler in my opinion.

No problem guys, you're very welcome! I love the game, and stuff like this is fun to do. My drawing skills are on par with order of the stick, so I like to do mods and things like that instead. My drawing is steadily getting better, but it will still be awhile.
Now I'm putting together 6 teepees and some hills for Whiplash Trigger for my Plains Nations group. ;D

Thank you Dave for the rule clarification.
I just got the snow kids to cut out now. I was looking at the drivethrourpg pictures it looks like that in the back their are some other items? Just accessories from another game I guess. Thank you for such a fun game.
Everyone who has looked at the rules or listened to me talk about the game, all remember our snowball battles from our childhood. I send them to drive through to grab a copy (no sharing of paid games I say). If anyone mentions another cool expansion Idea I will sure to post.
Happy new year to all and to all, "duck" slush ball "Incoming!"

After reading through the rules a couple time I am still confused about Action Points. Here is the crux of the matter for me - which way does it work:
1. I roll a d6 and get a 4 (for example). Then each of my snowball fighters gets 4 AP for my turn. *Without playing this would seem to be overpowered anytime one player rolled a 6 and the other player rolled low.
or
2. I roll a d6 and get a 4 (for example). Then I have 4 AP to split among the 3 kids on my team. *This would mean that I have to spend a whole turn standing one kid back up right, but it would make the turns a lot faster as well.

Chris, sorry for the delay in response. The way I have been using Action Points with a team of kids is that the activation roll is applied to each kid on the team. Therefore, if I roll a 4, then each kid has 4 AP to use that Game Turn. Games go faster and there is less book-keeping. Sometimes one side is overwhelmed for a Game Turn, it can really turn the tide of battle in some cases, but it is also satisfying and hilarious in play.
