So right now I'm using a budget inkjet printer with regular bright white 65lb cardstock paper and the results are pretty good. Only downside is that the ink will smear if I try to varnish or mod podge it, so I'm using packing tape to "laminate" the minifigs before cutting them out. Would photo paper be a better solution or does that smear too? Also is photo paper too weak compared to heavy duty cardstock? I'm actually happy with regular cardstock, but I'm always looking for advice on best practice so any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks. I have had much success with lamination (packing tape). I don't do it very much as things get a bit shiny, but what the heck.

New user to the forum here. I'm a wargamer as well as RPG gamer. I just bought several Okumarts Darkfast Dungeons fantasy cardstock mini files form DriveThruRPG and pretty excited about them. The big advantage I see with cardstock is that if the artwork is attractive enough (as the Darkfast Dungeons line definitely is), that it will look as good/better than most metal miniatures (especially unpainted or poorly painted ones) while being infinitely more portable and less shelf-space dependent. It's great to hear from you JB! Thanks for those kind words. Yeah, I really got excited when I built all my wood elf minis and put them on the table. Suddenly, I had an awesome looking army of wood elves and I could make as many as I wanted. Storage is also an important part of the decision to make paper minis for my games.

Outstanding! I think you can make a dent in three days, but you obviously need more days I am working on finishing a set of Grammas this weekend and Punks will follow next week... Then some GLORIOUS PIRATES!
